Alireza Motamedi

Ph.D. student

Alireza Motamedi obtained his B.Sc. in mechanical engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2017 and his M.Sc. from Tehran University in 2019. He is currently a Ph.D. student at Sharif University of Technology. His expertise are bubble dynamics, non-Newtonian fluids, exergy analysis, and biomechanics. He is interested in Water Desalination, Heat Transfer, multiphase flow, and wetting phenomena.

Amirhossein received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Shahid Bahonar University in September 2019. His project was about designing and making a product that is used in greenhouses. He started his MSc in 2020, and his project is about a desalination system.

Amirmohammad received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Kharazmi University in 2019. His project was on numerical simulation of vortex shedding phenomena behind cylinders for non-Newtonian fluids. Currently, he is a master student at Sharif University of Technology and working on hydrophobic surface applications in energy conversion usages.

Behzad Rezaee

Behzad received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kurdistan in 2018. He started his M.Sc. at Sharif University of Technology in September 2019. His master's thesis was on the enhancement of heat transfer in dropwise condensation by using nano/micro coatings. He is currently a Ph.D. student at Sharif University of Technology.

Hossein Pakzad

Hossein Pakzad received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tabriz in 2017. He got his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Moosavi and Dr. Nouri-Borujerdi from Sharif University of Technology in 2019. His thesis was about the drag reduction performance of superhydrophobic surfaces. He continued his education as a Ph.D. student at Sharif University of Technology from 2019 to 2023, and his thesis was about the drag reduction ability of liquid-infused surfaces. Currently, he works as a research assistant in the Micro/Nanofluidics Lab.

Reza Talebi

Reza received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Azarbayjan Shahid Madani University in January 2020. His final project was about the numerical simulation of laminar flow around a cylinder with a second body. He started his master's of science in 2020, and his thesis is about icephobic surface and ice detachment force reduction.

Amin Didban

I am Amin Didban, a Master's student (class of 2023) specializing in surface engineering. My interests focus on developing superhydrophobic surfaces and Liquid-Infused Surfaces (LIS) to reduce friction and pressure drop in internal flows, such as in pipes. My thesis project involves designing and fabricating these surfaces to optimize fluid dynamics. I am passionate about advancing my knowledge in surface engineering to innovate solutions that enhance performance and efficiency in mechanical systems.

M.R. A. Chsemak is currently a student in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Sharif University of Technology. He is well-known for his research on utilizing anti-condensation nanoengineered coatings to improve cooling system efficiency and has a strong understanding of the impact of nanotechnology on fluid mechanics applications. Additionally, he has extensive experience in providing teaching assistance for various classes. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Shiraz University and has a great interest in innovating the use of nanotechnology and fluid mechanics in industrial and academic research applications

Seyed Ahmadreza Kia received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Shahid Beheshti University in 2022. His undergraduate thesis was about preventing freezing in heat exchangers. He then got a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Moosavi from Sharif University of Technology in 2024. His thesis was about enhancing dropwise condensation utilizing a Liquid-Infused Surface. He is interested in water harvesting, condensation, and optimization.

Mahmoud Mahlouji

Mahmoud joined MNFL in Fall 2021 as an MSc student after completing his BSc at Shahid Beheshti University, where he worked on numerical (CFD) simulations of micro-thermophotovoltaic systems. Leveraging his expertise in heat transfer analysis, he focused on dropwise condensation heat transfer enhancement through surface engineering as his MSc thesis. He graduated in early 2024. Mahmoud is also interested in other applications of surface engineering such as atmospheric water capture, icephobicity, and drag reduction. His other passions include, phase change heat transfer, thermal management of electronic devices, and applied machine learning.

Seyed Hossein Moosavi Shoar

I am Seyed Hossein Moosavi Shoar, graduate student in Sharif University of Technology. I work in the field of condensation improvement and analyze thermodynamic and fluid-related aspects of condensation. I am interested in engineering inspired by nature, which is why I study evolution and biological systems. Additionally, I am involved in programming, having developed one software tool for designing condensation devices and one street-sweeper’s fan and channels designer. Currently, I am focused on engineered surface coatings. My expertise lies in using ANSYS and MATLAB software.

I am Pooya Hooshyar, with a keen interest in renewable and applied energy, particularly focusing on thin films and coatings. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Buali-Sina University in 2016 and later earned my Master’s degree in the same field from Sharif University of Technology in 2023. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in the Microfluidic Lab, where I have been conducting research since 2024.
