Farzad Tahami, Ph.D., P.E., is a Senior Member of IEEE. He received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, in 1991, followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Tehran, Iran, in 1993 and 2003, respectively.
From 1991 to 2004, he was part of the R&D department at Jovain Electrical Machines Corporation (JEMCO), Iran. In 2004, he joined Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, where he serves as a professor and manager of the Power Electronics Lab.
Prof. Tahami has led various industrial projects and is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Distinguished Researcher Award for International Collaborations (2018) and the Distinguished Researcher Award for Technology Development (2016), both from Sharif University of Technology. He also received the 2020 SUT Award for Distinguished Book Writer.
From 2007 to 2021, he chaired the Technical Committee on Rotating Machinery at the Iranian National Electrotechnical Committee (INEC). Currently, he is a Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Education Committee of the Power Electronics Society of Iran (PESI).
