This course is offered in all semesters. It is being offered in Spring 2013. Instructor: Dr. Farzad Tahami
The required prerequisite for the course is EE25733, Electromagnetic. Further details of the course policies are listed on the Vitals page.
The course includes an overview of fundamentals of modern electric energy conversion and rotating electric machines. Review of the basic concepts used in electric energy conversion: Electromagnetic fields and voltage induction, induction of forces and torques, phasors, complex power, three phase systems and per-unit methodology. Equivalent models of energy conversion system components including magnetic circuits, transformers, motors, generators (AC and DC). Steady-state behavior of energy conversion systems.
