The Journal of Contaminant Hydrology is an international journal publishing scientific articles pertaining to the contamination of groundwater. Emphasis is placed on investigations of the physical, chemical, and biological processes influencing the behavior of organic and inorganic contaminants in both the unsaturated (vadose) and saturated zones. Articles on contamination of surface water are not included unless they specifically deal with the link between surface water and groundwater. The journal's scope embraces a wide range of topics including: experimental investigations of contaminant sorption, diffusion, transformation, volatilization and transport in the unsaturated and saturated zones; characterization of soil and aquifer properties only as they influence contaminant behavior; development and testing of mathematical models of contaminant behavior; innovative techniques for restoration of contaminated sites; and development of new tools or techniques for monitoring the extent of soil and groundwater contamination.

The Journal of Hydrology publishes original research papers and comprehensive reviews in all the subfields of the hydrological sciences. These comprise, but are not limited to the physical, chemical, biogeochemical, stochastic and systems aspects of surface and groundwater hydrology, hydrometeorology and hydrogeology. Relevant topics in related disciplines such as climatology, water resource systems, hydraulics, agro hydrology, geomorphology, soil science, instrumentation and remote sensing, civil and environmental engineering are also included. Papers have empirical, theoretical and applied orientations.

The Hydrogeology Journal's emphasis is to:
Foster understanding of hydrogeology, a practical discipline aimed at bettering the human situation on earth. Describe worldwide progress in hydrogeology. Provide an inexpensive and widely accessible forum for scientists, researchers, engineers, and practitioners in developing and industrialized countries alike.

Advances in Water Resources provides a forum for the presentation of fundamental scientific advances in the understanding of water resources systems. The scope of Advances in Water Resources includes any combination of theoretical, computational, or experimental approaches used to advance fundamental understanding of surface or subsurface water resources systems or the interaction between these systems. Manuscripts involving applications or design, but not advancing fundamental understanding, are not appropriate for Advances in Water Resources.
Examples of appropriate topical areas that will be considered include the following:
• Surface and subsurface hydrology
• Hydrodynamics and hydrometeorology
• Multiphase transport phenomena
• Modeling fluid flow and species transport and reaction processes
                                • Mathematical and stochastic analysis of water resources systems

Water Research publishes refereed, original research papers on all aspects of the science and technology of water quality and its management worldwide. A broad outline of the journal's scope includes:
• Treatment processes for water and wastewaters, municipal, agricultural and industrial, including residuals management.
• Water quality standards and the analysis, monitoring and assessment of water quality by chemical, physical and biological methods.
• Studies on inland, tidal or coastal waters and urban waters, including surface and ground waters, and point and non-point sources of pollution.
• The limnology of lakes, impoundments and rivers.
• Solid and hazardous waste management, including source characterization and the effects and
control of leachates and gaseous emissions.
                                • Environmental restoration, including soil and groundwater remediation.
                                • Analysis of the interfaces between sediments and water, and water/atmosphere interactions.
                                • The application of mathematical and modeling techniques.
                                • Public health and risk assessment.

Advances in Environmental Research is a journal for the publication of peer reviewed, original research in the fields of environmental science, engineering and technology. It includes full length research papers, case studies, notes and critical review papers reporting on major advances in areas that will:
• lead to improvements in or protection of the quality of the air, water and land environments, or
• improve the efficiency or cost effectiveness of existing technology, or
• contribute to our knowledge of transport and fate of pollutants in the environment.

The primary aim of this Journal is to provide a vehicle for the rapid dissemination of information of interest to professionals in academia, industry, government and consulting who are involved in
• research in environmental quality control
                                • design and operation of waste treatment processes or plants
                                • remediation of contaminated sites
•process modification for pollution prevention or improved energy efficiency.

The Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering covers all phases of irrigation, drainage, engineering hydrology, and related water management subjects, such as watershed management, weather modification, water quality, groundwater, and surface water. The journal emphasizes new developments and results of research, as well as case studies and practical applications of engineering.

The Journal of the American Water Resources Association is primarily dedicated to the publication of original papers that are characterized by their broad approach to water resources issues. All papers are refereed prior to publication. It is widely considered to be the outstanding journal devoted to water resources. The Journal is a bi-monthly publication, beginning with the February issue.
