Sharif University of Technology is one of the region's leading academic institutions and has welcomed international students and researchers since its inception in 1967. It is located at the west of Tehran near Azadi Square. It has an easy access by Metro by a station named Sharif University. It has been under continuous expansion in terms of constructing new buildings, introducing new areas of study and research, and also the number of students and faculty members

The International Students' Office is responsible for processing applications from international students wishing to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Sharif University of Technology (SUT) and also from Iranian students currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree program at a university outside of Iran and wishing to visit or transfer to SUT. It also provides advice about funding and other issues particularly affecting international students, including immigration questions.

The International Students` Office is open for general enquiries by telephone or in person from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., Saturday to Wednesday, and is located on campus on the first floor of the University Education Offices.
