Tavakoli Prize

Civil Engineering Department of Sharif University of Technology has granted Tavakoli prize to the honor graduates from 1377 (1999). This prize is granted in commemoration of the late Dr. Mostafa Tavakoli the former and ingratitude for his services. This prize is divided into two categories as follows:

    Tavakoli prize for acquisition, It is yearly granted to the honor BSC graduates and also those who stand first in the scientific Olympiad competition.

Tavakoli prize for conducting original researches, To students of different educational sections who have succeed to achieving original researches that it's results have been presented as articles in scientific journals or local or international valid conferences.

About Dr. Tavakoli

Dr. Tavakoli was borned in 1331 (1953) in babol, graduated from Technical Department of Tehran University in 1356 (1978) and also graduated with MS and PHD degrees from State University of Michigan in 1363 (1985).

He return back to Iran and started his work in Civil Engineering Department of SUT in 1364. Dr Tavakoli was selected as the chairman of the department and was remained at his deanship up to the end of his short period of life. He was the author and translator of three books and more than 12 articles in Iranian and foreign magazines and conferences.

Dr. Tavakoli was the administrator of two MS courses, the advisor master of 11 MS students and one PHD student. He was an active member of educational programming council of civil engineering committee, civil engineering association of Iran, the committee of buildings concrete standards and constructions security against earthquakes.

General Qualifications For Applicants

Applicants should be student or late (two years before at the latest) graduate of the department.
