Research Activities
- Participated and coordinated analysis and measurement of different physical and
chemical characteristics of pollutants and modeled the contribution from different
sources at several sites in Southern California including Los Angeles-Long Beach
harbor community
- Participated in a multi-disciplinary project on assessing the exposure to different
pollutants
- Air pollution modeling including source apportionment modeling and dispersion modeling
- Emission measurements, testing and controls, conducting analyses, air emission calculations
and operating and maintaining several air quality measurement instruments
- Participated in multi-million dollar environmental projects with EPA, California
Air Resources Board and Southern California Air Quality Management District
- Reviewing and analyzing results of testing, sampling and laboratory analysis and
preparing related technical reports
- Generated scientific evidence to support EPA’s effort to update VOC based ozonreactivity
policy
- Monitored airborne pollutants chemical composition in Atlanta and installed four
sampling stations to collect daily samples and analyzed them using IC and TOT
- Simulated the water quality situation of Latiyan resorvoir using HEC-5Q
- Analyzed effects of water diversion of one of Latiyan reservoir entrance on its
water quality
- Monitored water quality of a Latiyan reservoir by regular sampling and analysis
such as BOD, TSS and DO
