About Me

I am a multidisciplinary dynamicist interested in the understanding, modeling, and control of complex engineering and natural systems. I am Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Flight Operations Research Lead at Joby Aviation, San Carlos, California. Prior to joining Joby, I was a researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. I received my Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the Sharif University of Technology specializing in Chaotic Dynamical Systems, and was a post-doctoral fellow of applied mathematics at the Florida State University where I worked on kinetic theory, N-body systems and galactic dynamics. I have held faculty and research positions at the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran [Professor of Mechanical Engineering], Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton [Visiting Astrophysics Member], and Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences, Zanjan [Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics]. My current research centers on developing the science and technology of dense operations of eVTOL AirTaxis, autonomous air traffic control, nonlinear and model predictive control, and galactic dynamics.Â
